Welcome to the list from the Appalachian foothills of S.E. Ohio. Many years ago I did some SASS competitions using blackpowder revolvers -- a .44 open top colt and a .36 Remington revolver. I also used my SxS 12 gauge BP shotgun. I was never fast enough or won anything but I enjoyed the shooting. My SASS name was 'James Blue Lightnin', which was the name of Outlaw Josey Wales. When he was in the trading post, one of the trappers that had a gun on Josey called him by that name and I liked it. Of course ...both trappers were shot dead .....

Thank you all for the warm welcome! My SASS name was Sasquatch Rick. I shot with the Blackhand Raiders. It was a great time, but life got busy. Never shot with someone who shot BP, that’s definitely neat! I loved the historical aspect, and my dad had taken me to Friendship when I was younger, so want to do that for my own kids now.

Welcome from Florida. I hunted in southeast Ohio a few years ago. Near the town of Marietta. It was a very pretty area.
Marietta was the first established town in Ohio in 1788. If you had the chance to visit the Campus Martius museum, it is awesome in there. So much original 18th century goods, guns and everything you can imagine is there.
