New to this forum and relatively new to the muzzleloading community......
Currently own two percussion rifles.....one Pedersoli in .36 Cal and a fantastic custom built .40 Cal by Rudy Marek.
Also own a 1976 production Ruger Old Army (Stainless)

I am an avid shooter/collector/reloader of various firearms including S&W, Winchester, Marlin, U.S. Military and many more modern weapons.

Maybe some of you are in the Salmon area??

Keep your powder dry!!

Hell, I Was There!
:)
Welcome from Texas
Funny you mention that particular Keith book......one of my hunting partners, who is now in his mid 80's lived here in Salmon back in the late 1940's

His father was a medical doctor for a few years in town and became friends of old Elmer's and even went on a hunt or two with the old goat.
Here are some photos I was able to get from my friend.....one shows my friend at 8 years old on Elmer's front porch along with Elmer, Elmer's wife Larraine, Ted Keith and my friend's mother.

Side note:::::look on page 146 of "HELL I WAS THERE" and you will see a photo of Elmer with two "Unidentified" hunters......those are my friends father and his buddy from back east about to go an a hunt with Elmer.

welcome from Yuma Az, and I'm reading "Hell I was there" for the third or fourth time Presently.
A very entertaining book to say the least!!
We lived in Prescott Valley, AZ from 2016 until 2022........We left when California decided to move in, LOL!! (Funny but true!!)

Welcome. I'm in Utah. Visited Salmon once and loved it.
Salmon is has incredible beauty......and the wildlife is abundant....shot a very nice bull elk in November and have hundreds of elk wintering around our place, including a group of at least 60 nice bulls hanging out on the hills behind us. We are fortunate to be living here for the next two years.

it is nice to see the cows & wildlife cohabit.

Welcome from Minnesota.
In 1980 as a vastly younger person I took a solo motorcycle trip to Oregon to see a high school buddy.

At one point I was less than 100 miles from Salmon and like an absolute moron didn't take the opportunity to see if Elmer was home. Dumb.

As I recall he had his stroke in 1982 and passed away in 1984.

That’s really cool - a nice history there in those photos.
