Greetings from an old Silver Spring, Md expatriot. (Lived in New Hampshire Avenue), but now in awesome North Carolina.
Is Atlantic Guns (?) still in business in Silver Spring? Got my first BP gun there!
Atlantic Guns is still in business. I’ve been a customer there for decades. However, due to the new Metro construction on Bonifant Street, they moved to Rockville. So, my 5 minutes to a gun store is now 30. In other tragedies, they had a fine gunsmith, who took a job elsewhere, and now there’s no gunsmith of equal quality anywhere around...

I too bought several guns from Atlantic Guns in the early 80's and still have them. I lived in the neighborhood around St. Catherine's Catholic church in Wheaton. Left there in Dec. of 91.
I’m still here. Lived here almost all of my life.

Did you know the late Paul Lederer? He and Billy Gammell were probably the most knowledgeable people in the USA on British Percussion revolvers. --- They wrote articles for the American Rifleman. See pages 140 - 146 in the "NRA Gun Collectors Guide" published in 1972.
I knew both of them well -- - bought many guns from Billy G and used to see Paul at the Baltimore Show. I would like to get in contact with Paul's family.
Sorry, I don’t know them.

Right now, nowhere. I hope that will change. Tough hobby for a city boy..
True enough. It's an all day thing going to the range from here. Elk Neck state gun range is closest to me. Very nice place to shoot but that road in and out of there is rough. I drive a 250 and I just couldn't imagine someone with a compact car trying to go down that entrance road.

Actually there is a finer gunsmith, who also once worked for Atlantic, living in Monrovia MD, about five miles from Damascus. Not only a smith, but a patent holder on some gunsmithing tools.

I heard of the Damascus gunsmith, but not anything about him. He’s an hour away. I do have a nice shotgun, that needs attention

I went looking for this gunsmith, and couldn’t find him. Internet adverse? Do you have a name, or contact information?
