Hi Guy's, Pops is the name. Been shooting longer than I like to remember. Getting a little long in the tooth so my match shooting has stopped but I still hunt with a smoothbore and a bow. Can't stay out of the woods.

Welcome Pops.

Do you use a real bow or a wheel bow? I'm a recurve man from the old school - sightless w/cedar arrows and double-edged heads. Target shooting is just hunting practice, so you've still got your priorities straight. Enjoy the site.

Welcome to the Forum!Pull Your wheelchair right up to the fire beside the rest of the longtooth crowd.Theres a great bunch of folks here, both young, and not so young.Looking forward to Your input. ::

Welcome Pop's...

I can hear it now, "Back in my day we didn't shoot those fancy-smancy bullets, we shot round balls, and lots of em..."

Tell us of your days of yesteryears in the fields...

well I hunt in Southern Illinois, use a .54 smoothbore for Deer and squirrel. Don't always get them tree rats but I keep um scared. Do alright with the deer, got a buddy that lets me hunt on his farm, don't have to walk too far to my stands. Haven't went hungry for deer in a coons age. Starting to get some turkey on the farm, want to get one with my Bow. Have to use a crossbow as I'm too stove up to pull a recurve, took a flying lesson out of a sweetgum 8 years ago and never really got back to full stride. But I'm out there every day that I'm able and loving every minute.
Take care and be careful. Pop's :redthumb:

Hey gordey good talking with you. Where in the sunshine state are you located? Used to live in the Key's, little town of Layton. Left there in the 70's. Living in southern Illinois now. Get down there every year, got a lot of friends scattered all over the state. My shooting buddy that comes to Friendship for the fall shoot lives in south Miami. We always have a ball when he shows up here for a visit. You take care and be careful. Pop's :redthumb:
