I have an chance at buying a hawkin rifle but need help IDing it. It has the name Robinson Prince George on top of barrel.Itook the barrel off and the barrel is a sharron barrel .50cal . The lock L&R.It looks custom very well made.I put a bore light down the barrel it looks perfect and run a patch very smooth. What would the value be?

IMO, if you can get it for less than $700 you got a very good deal.
The parts for building one of these will run over $450.

zonie :)

Thanks Zonie. Robinson is the guys last name and he lived in Prince George BC Canada if this helps ID the maker. What about sharon barrel are they still made ?

Sharon barrels have not been made for a long time. My first 'scratch build' was a .36 made with a Sharon barrel. It is still going strong after many thousands of shots through it.

Ah...Sharon's barrel ! Well, it wasn't Sharon's barrel, it was her dad's barrel and he told me if I didn't act like a gentleman with his daughter he'd put me in it and nail the top on!!! :shocked2:
Of course, he forgot to tell that to Sharon and I found out that she wasn't exactly looking for a gentleman... :rotf:

OH, a Sharon Barrel! Ya, they've gone under but they made a top notch barrel when they were in business.

zonie :)
