Help identifying the type of buttstock

This rifle was discovered in an archeological excavation in Greece,
it is probably of European origin like most Greek guns of the era with some eastern influences,
my problem is that usually the buttstocks of the Greek or Eastern guns look similar but not like this.
Any ideas?

Could be from anywhere in that region. Or from Northern Africa, hard to say.
