My dad bought me this gun a while back id like to know more about it. I think its very old but the mechanical parts of it work extremely well so i have no clue.

I think it's Mid Eastern or Mediterranean, sometimes referred to as a "dag". Look on some of the auction sites. Prices vary.
 
Tourist souvenir. I don’t think it’s meant to be fired. Barrel looks cast, so it may explode, may not even have a breech plug. Don’t try to shoot it! These were made for sale from Morocco to Egypt and farther east. The better ones were made with some real gun parts, when uncle Abdul ran out of real antique parts, he put the boys to work making parts and tarnishing them to look old. It’s still a cool wall hanger though!
 
Agree with others here. It was made as a tourist item - only. Not made to shoot, and please don't attempt to. Appears to be one of the later copies from the 1970's or later.
