Hello all, my names Philip and need some advice. I have an original waters lock and barrel. It's was a flintlock and later converted to percussion. The barrel is 33 in long ( someone before me cut her down I suspect) and round. I'd like to restock her but have really no idea wat style I should go for. I know he and his sons had military contracts so I was thinking a 1817 contract artillery musket. Please feel free to chime in.

Interesting. The lock doesn't look like a military pattern, so I'd go with a more civilian pattern stock. How about the barrel? Is it military in style or bore?

Well it's around a 12ga size smooth bore. I presume it was longer than what it is now. It is round with a percussion percussion breech plug. I'll post pictures of the barrel later for ya.

I can't really dig much on Waters civilian fowler or rifles. I guess I need to find out who he apprenticed for and what general region he was in.
