I have a brace of pistols that my brother-in-law gave me to find some information on. They're are stamped "Pedersoli Dav" on the barrels. They both have what appears to be bronze(or brass) barrels. Both pistols are .44 caliber. As near as I can tell they look like Pedersoli's "Kentucky" pistol. I don't know how old they are. How would I go about finding a safe load for these pistols?

What's interesting is that one pistol is flintlock and the other is caplock. They are in a wooden presentation case with a powder flask and a mold.

Anybody seen these before?

Are they like these?

If not, can you find them on the Pedersoli sight?

I looked on the Pedersoli site and the closest thing they have in appearance is their "Kentucky" pistols. Unfortunately they don't have an archive section.

Thirty or more years ago, a number of importers offered brass barreled "Kentucky" pistols. They were imported from Italy, and some were made by Pedersoli. Similar pieces are still being made and the quality may have gone up---the prices certainly have.
