This is a light I like very much. It is a Mac Tools Stylus 3 Streamlight. It is 3/8" diameter, 6 1/2 inches long. Has 3 4A batteries. With it, you can shine in the bore and see the breech plug. Auto supply stores carry them. They cost about $18. With almost daily use, the batteries last about a year. Great for looking into shotgun barrels, too.

I prefer the two cell myself but they are hard to find. Took mine to a gun show just today. A fellow had an old Hopkins & Allen underhammer .45 for which he was asking $200. Dropped the bore light down and let him see the rusted condition, (he'd never seen it before) and he let my friend talk him down to $100. We're hoping it will clean up and shoot ok but the point is that little streamlight sure is great, will slide right down a .40 or larger.

For 10 bucks Traditions or CVA sells one about 1" long that will go down a .45 bore and lights it up perfectly for inspection. When someone wants to sell me a ML that's the 1st thing I do, drop in the light.
