Scheutzen branded as Elephant??

I don't think that was ever the case. Pretty sure it always came out of the Wano plant whereas Elephant came out of Brazil.
He's correct. Elephant was a South American powder and Schuetzen is from Germany. Elephant is far dirtier than Schuetzen, but for several years about the late 1990's, it was just about the only powder available and kept us shooting. It was still easier to ignite than Pyrodex.

I started with 1lb of 2F Goex, the shop near me carries Scheutzen, I've been shooting their 3F since. I didn't notice a difference at the time of the switch. now that I'm dialed in and worked out a ball, patch, lube combo, and a load of 3f Scheutzen, it would be interesting to work up a load with Goex and see which I like better.

I have no problems with Schuetzen and it's no dirtier than Goex. I prefer Schuetzen because they support youth black powder programs while Goex does not. So unless and until Goex changes their policy in that regard, I'll never use it promote it. So keep that in mind when reading threads about declining black powder shooting.
While I like the idea that WANO supports youth programs, I still always default back to American made products if I can.

I get that BUT don't go complaining about no youth getting into black powder shooting sports
