Folks,

I don't know how to set up a poll on here, but it would be nice to have someway to tally up the combined total of years of exposure/experience with muzzleloaders. I would expect the number to reach at least a few thousand years.

It would just be interesting to see how much it is.

I have been shooting a flintlock since..... Drumroll please....

Buy, hey...I'm really having a good time.

Regards, and shoot safely!

About five decades, was shooting ML in late 50's, interest really picked up at time of CW centennial.

Got my first muzzle loader in 1975. That would be 31 years. Now that is all I shoot. The others just collect dust. Leon/Iowa

Claude,
Have a heart...Give us newbies with less than a year a chance to vote.... Afterall, we're the ones who are supposed to keep the tradition alive...

About 16 yrs...started with an xxline, then caplocks, and the past 5 years with Flintlocks have been fantastic!!

And, the learning curve was made all the better from all the knowledge available on the Internet like this...ML boards are like the "Cliff's Notes" of muzzleloading.

Knowledge doesn't equate with experience. I have years of experience missing targets, that doesn't impart me with much knowledge. Nonetheless I answered the poll and find the early results to be very interesting.

My grandma's bother started me on this path in 1958.So it's 48 years.

I have and have had many intrests thu my 58 yrs...Boats (no bass ones),hot rods, all kinds of archery, all kinds of hunting, model and real airplanes(tube and fabric), fishing, all kinds of reloading, casting and so on and so forth....But the only constant has been the patched round ball!!!! 46 years and still going strong.cough/wheeze/cough...

Been shootin' BP since I was a kid in '75-76 or there abouts. That's what, 30-31 years (dang, I ran outta countin' fingers)? Most of that time was just spent shootin' and not doing much learnin', so I don't know how much of it actually counts as experience.
