I am hoping to FINALLY get out and bowhunt on Tuesday eve for a while....we'll soon see.

I have about a month before blackpowder comes in for me, what about you?

What will you be toting after those deer this fall?

I'll be using my .50cal flinter...and I can't wait!!!!

Good luck
Wess

KyFlintlock,

I'll have to wait until the middle of Nov. then I'll be toting my A&H Mt. Rifle .50cal. shooting a .495 R/B with .018 patch over 100 grains of 777 FFFg.

KyFlintlock,
I got untill the middle of October before I can Hunt with my Muzzleloaders. It's a 5 day Primitive hunt that takes place in 2 WMA's.After that there's another week to wait until the regular season which I only use traditional guns.I,ve got 2 that I will hunt with this year. One is a Lyman Flintlock and the other is a T/C Percussion.

Ours opened Sept. 10-23. The bucks had me puzzled this year til last night. Kicked up 5 nice ones walking back to the house. Gonna have a change of plan tonight. Hopefully will bring one in.

1st week Nov.1st week Dec. up here in Ontario Canada. Two weeks only!
good luck to you all!

Avon Park Florida,
Oct 29-Nov 5 muzzleloader only
Nov 12-Jan 22 muzzleloader, pistol, or shotgun so ya know what I'll be using!!!
Hillsborough WMA
Nov 26-27 muzzleloader
Dec 3-4 muzzleloader

I have a lot of opportunities to hunt with muzzleloader, I can also hunt hogs during these hunts and turkeys in most of them. The limit is 2 dear a day, but 3 points a side for Avon Park. Makes for quality deer hunting. Will be hunting with my T/C Black Mountain or T/C Treehawk so it's going to have to be 120 gr BP with 240 gr Hornady sabots, with those fast twist barrels. Sidelocks with sabots, the best of both worlds (for hunting)!

Dec 12 to 20th if I wait for our M/L season here in the Southern Zone of NY (which is also late season archery). But, I can use the m/l in regular season, which starts Nov. 19th and runs 'till then.

Be totin my .54 flinter this year.

3 days to go. Utah ML starts 9/28 and goes for 9 days. Am packed and ready.

Last week of Nov. and first week of Dec. here in Mo. but we can use whatever we want during the regular firearms season. I'm planning to use my Freedom Arms Mod. 97 during regular firearms season but who knows....may change my mind by then and use the 45 flint which is what I'll be using during ML season.

Archery opened the 15th of Sept. here but I haven't been out....was too hot til today.

KY..if you're in Kentucky I was thru your state last weekend. Wish I'd had more time to snoop around the historical sites.

Season here in the upstate os SC begins Oct.1st. cant wait!!!!!
I use my .45cal 44" flinter about 75% of the time when I go hunting.I use a .445 ball with a (ballistol/water)dry lubed .018 ticking patch with 65-70g of 3f for hunting.

For my .50 cal 42" flinter I use a .495 ball with a .018 dry lube patch for with 75g of 3F.

For my .54 38" flinterI use a .530 ball with a .020 prelubed OxYoke patch with 100g of 2F.

I shoot all my flints at the range as if I were hunting, and load them the same way.I know thats alot of powder, but my rifles are for hunting and are made for that purpose.

As soon as I get the funds, a smoothbore is next.....my first. With the exeption of my collection of Brown Besses

Our early Pa season starts 10/15 lasts for a week flatheads only .
That's 16 days to go! I'm ready I have (2) anterless tags plus (1) a DMAP tag for the state forest where our cabin is located...flatheads, nice way to put it...can't eat antlers!

I have the licenses pinned to the orange camo vest over my hydro fleece. I'll start packing up next weekend
