56. First taste of BP was at 10 years old with my grandfather. 1978. I have some new items but BP, mainly Flintlock, is my passion.

53 born in 1943 sat here most of day with 177 pcp, this big rat is so fast, but I’ll get him. Ha ha if I used BP my final days would be probably in prison. This is England the old country. You have to make the best of things . And no no rat hunting with bow and arrow allowed either

It can only get worse.

First shot an original muzzleloader in 1970 in the swamps of NC with a fellow Marine.
Bought a gun in Camp Pendleton in 1972.
Bought my first kit from Golden Age Arms.
My second kit (Miroku British musket) in 1974 from Log Cabin Sport Shop.
My most recent kits (Colonial, Woodsrunner , and fowler) from Jim Kibler!
I am 78.

Go to another country, really free, something like the other side of the channel: Macrocescu"ll be glad to welcome you, your wife, and the camping car...
Have a nice day. ;)
Erwan.

Oh so glad to hear from you Erwan, it’s been a long time . I keep looking at french houses. I found the people on the west coast so kind and friendly, not so Paris or the Med, I cannot wait to come again in my Rapido , but I need a permit to carry , I’ll bring you some lead, but french flint is better than English. Been trying to catch a big rat in my box trap, but after hours sitting in the shade nailed it with my 177 pcp, it’s upsetting as I love rats, but it had to go.

But of course you are dead right , I dream of hunting french hogs, but in 2500 miles never saw one. I am just fitting 28 bore shotgun barrels to my muzzle loading .36 double rifle , at 81 I have built up a load of guns, several African double rifles , and there’s the Swiss 7.5-53 target rifles oh to hunt with one cordite of course,

Once again great to here from you, after 1000 years still got a french nose etc as my ancestors came from Courtenay SE of Paris 1155

Anyway great to to hear from you. Joan and Gordon It’s £199 for the return crossing with DFDS out of Dover

I am collecting a German 1834 .530 bore 23” barrel carbine on Tuesday had to have it but my credit card is now in a sorry state , last two photos

God bless look forward to saying hello

Happy to meet, sorry to part , but happy to meet again. Love Joan and Gordon

I went through all 28 pages to see if I had posted and I had not so I'm 80 and have been shooting black powder since 1965. My fraternity brother got me into it and I bought a Zoli Zouave which I don't have a picture of. I couldn't get it to hit squat so I sold it for a song to a gun/archery club member who was into NSSA and re-enacting. He accurized it, shot a different design mini ball, and won tons of trophies with it. He also was an extra in the movie "Gettysburg" and was on the wall after Pickett's Charge shouting "Fredericsburg, Fredericksburg".

74 today shooting bp since the early 70's
.Today was my worst birthday ever had to put my 15 year old springer down really sucks
So sorry for your loss. We lost our Golden Girl Abby two weeks ago. She was 12.6 years old.

Almost 5:30 sunday hit the big rat hard with a 177 pcp. He ran under decking, hope it does not suffer . It was so quick a shot, amen mr Rat only the two crows and heron having breakfast today. Upset me a bit as I love pet rats. In fact I’ll miss seeing him every morning, but he had to go as they carry so much disease .

I’m 55. Not sure if I already posted here. (Age-related forgetfulness) First BP experience was a ROA purchase at Dixon’s 25 years ago and flirted briefly back and forth with unmentionables until about a year ago where all I shoot now is BP. I’m pretty certain I’ll stay BP-only from here on out. It’s way more enjoyable and relaxing. Modern guns are tools to me. This is an amazing site with great people. A happy place for me in a world of insanity. Thanks for letting me hang out.

95 Been making and shooting then since 1948....still making These I finished about ten years ago.. The musket I finished over 20 yeas ago
I always made Kentucky's until I branched off and made Miquelets and wheel locks... made a lot of them.
