Pull the nipple or vent liner and dribble in a few grains of 4f powder. It doesn't take much. Then point it in a neutral direction and pull the trigger. That's a lot easier in the field than using a a worm.
I hear you...I know it isn't "historically correct"...but I keep that vent sealed tight against any possible unintentional ignition getting in there, using a piece of tape from the garage to the stand, then remove it to prime and hunt.Stumpkiller said:"...As an experiment when unloading, try dumping your prime and then firing off the rifle in a safe direction. I'll bet dinner you'll find they're still very accurate...I've saved my pulled loads for a few seasons now and use them for plinking at the range.Birddog6 said:I have been saving those pulled balls.
