How To Antique Brass ?

Looking to add an antique look to the brass on a T/C Hawken I just picked up.
What is the best way ?

Wipe the brass with used cleaning patches.

Find some antique brass to use as a model. You’ll notice the surface isn’t smooth under the patina.

IMO, the best way would be to let it age.....

Age from honest use is IMHO the best route to an end result. Handle, shoot and clean. This will give you some contrast. Some areas will dull and others will be shiny from use. Just like the brass band on my picture at the left.
