A couple of days ago I picked up an "Irish" style shot snake head which has an inside collar which does not attach in any way to the body of the head. This collar has two slots in it. Trying to describe the whole thing accurately would tax my abilities to articulate, but if any of you have one or are familiar with one, could you maybe give me an idea of how this unit is meant to attach to the leather of the snake or bag? Or does anyone possibly know of a web site which diagrams and describes how the attachment is done?

Thanks.

If it's like mine i took a piece of pvc that fit the hole and wedged it in with the leather and inner collar. The screws line up with the slots on the inner collal to hold it all together.

The leather I use is the right thickness for a press fit between the inner collar with two slots and the outer collar. I have never been confident in a single screw passing through the two brass layers and the leather, so I always use one on each side. Never a problem with slippage.

Thanks fellers. The slots now make sense. Unfortunately, the head I bought, (an Uberti) does not have screws in the side of the body to engage the slots so I'll have to drill and tap, but that's no big deal.

Thanks again. :hatsoff:

Drill yeah, but just use little brass metal screws. The inner brass is real thin and does well without bothering to tap the thicker, outer cover.
