The best thing to do with TRS is to forget them. I ordered a kit for a wheellock pistol from them. It took about a year to get all the parts. :cursing: The supposed investmment castings were of very poor quality. A few were warped and some had to have metal added to them to makethem fit right because of shrinkage. I have been working on my lock for about two years now in my spare time. It is almost finished. The chain castings they sent do not work well. I had to make my own as their materials kept breaking when the lock was wound up. The hole that the sear fits into on the wheel is in the wrong place and has to be filled in and a new one drilled. I will get it finished one of these days. If you get the parts be prepared to do as lot of sawing off of sprues, filing, polishing, dilling, tapping, hardening and tempering. The springs are investment castings. Take special care in filing them to shape and hardening and tempering. There is vast room for improvements in their parts department.
I have built guns from investment castings in the past. I can assure you that the casting were of better quality. These kits came from Jef. Schreoter, Dixie Gun Works, CVA, and Thompson Center. One really would have to have a complete machine shop to work on TRS kits. It is a frustrating process when one has to do all by hand.

I just spent six months getting the run around from them. I was trying to get the lock parts for their germanic pistol. In Jan they were going to take a new order to the foundry in one week. Every time I got in contact, email works, they came up with a new story.
Ordered one from Blackley and son instead. I have also heard that they sell their defect to out of the US customers because it is so hard to follow up for replacements

Go figure...after posting the lamentation...I got through.
I just rattled of about 9 locks that were cool, and took what was "claimed" to be in stock.
I will be getting a set of assorted screws in about 22 weeks.
Just kidding! I ended up getting the "Matchlock Caliver", and the English "Snaphaunce Musket".
Oh Yaaa!
After reading about all the woes, trials, tribulations, and the great "Pyrite Conundrum", I simply could not resist the challenge of the pre-flint aspect.

I am waiting for their russian snaplock set for about 20 months now after they promised it would be done in 3 months. I called them twice in between and each time they said they were just getting it done and would ship the next two weeks.
