How to remover stuck touch hole liner?

If you don't have easy outs you can slot it using a dremel tool and a used up grinding disc. Keep one that's only about 3/8 inch or less in diameter and just touch it to the liner just enough to put a slight slot in it. Then using a small flathead screwdriver, slowly back out the liner.

For one that's truly stuck I'm not sure this would work. Mine is already slotted for a flathead and it won't budge.

Use a screwdriver that perfectly fits into the slot. Apply a small amount of pressure turning to loosen and tap the end of the screwdriver sort of like a small impact tool. A couple of sharp taps should break the liner loose.

Blue loctite doesn't need heat only a proper fitting tool to remove it. Red loctite needs heat. In my opinion a touch hole liner only needs antiseize.

True, because the touch hole liner never gets hot, or have a tendency to work itself out.
Anti-seize or some kind of heavy grease is the way to go for coating the threads.

I think curiosity is a good enough reason to take out a touch hole liner.

You may find that your new curiosity will be ways to fix damage you have done to the liner when it was removed unnecessarily.

Just something to put in your hip pocket. Take a proper fitting screwdriver bit. Chuck it in a drill press. With the barrel in a vise press the bit into the slot. Turn the chuck with a chuck key while maintaining pressure with the drill press handle. Something will definitely give. Of course use penetrating oil first. I can’t say how many times I’ve pulled liners out for friends this way.
