Has anyone had any luck with the traditions crockett rifle.Are parts available, is it easy to shoot.Whats your thoughts,Murf :hatsoff:

There are all kinds of threads on the Crockett here. I'd venture to say it's the most popular small caliber ML around. Don't know about parts because I've never needed them, and I shoot mine a lot. Haven't heard of one yet that wasn't a tack driver. Hard to beat the Crockett, even if you spent quite a bit more money.

just bought mine, having a ball with it looking for a good load. check a few past threads using search function for info. quality may not be on par with a custom but neither is cost.

I bought a used one from a guy on another forum, and I have had a lot of fun with it over the last couple of months. I load 20 g. of FFFg behind a .311 PRB, and talk about knocking the stew out of a tree-rat! For the money, it's the best store-bought shooter that I own.

Haven't had to order any spare parts, so I can't help you there, but I printed a manual from their web-site, and it shouldn't be hard.

I am not familiar with the crocket rifle but unless they changed their policy Traditions have a lifetime warentiy.

Several years ago the mainspring on my Traditions Ky rifle broke. I called them them and they toook my name and address and in a few days it was in the mailbox. You cant ask for much more than that.

Thanks for all the help guy's.One more question who has the best price on the net for a crockett.Murf :winking:

Thanks fellas,your wright midsouth is the place to go.I looked at some older posts and the crockett sound like a great little plinker.Murf :hatsoff:

my only complaint is that it does not knock over the targets like a .58! just kiddin'

Does anyone here use a peep sight on their Crockett? If so what make , and so on.Thanks

just curious, does the crockett have a hooked breech, i.e. to remove the barrel do you just tap out the wedge and lift out the barrel?

you remove a wedge and a screw through the tang into the trigger plate. a hooked breach would have been nice but this is the next best thing.

bought my crocket about 2 years ago and have nothing bad to say about it. I love it. I load a .311 ontop of 25 grs. a real tack driver. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Best price I could find anywhere;

I've had mine for a couple of months. All kindsa fun for squirrel huntin'! I also use 20 grains of 3F and a patched round ball. Fun to shoot, cheap to shoot and plenty accurate. :thumbsup:

The fit & finish could be a bit better but the price is right. No complaints here.

Just don't run a patch all the way to the bottom of the bore with a tight jag. It will get stuck. I use a patch over a bore brush to get the last couple inches cleaned.
