What is your favorite size, with or with out compartments. Straps cloth or leather and left or right side? All mine is leather straps and no compartments and I use a wallets for tools and flint. Just wondering what your opionions are.

go to the surgiccal supply or a friendly doctor and get a needle puller too, it makes sewing easier.

Good topic idea. I like to have a dedicated bag for each weapon. That means I get to buy several bags as well as multiple flasks or horns since I use different powder in small bore, pistol, smoothbore, and big bore flint. The flask or horn is "married" to the dedicated bag and I don't have to remember what grade powder is in a given horn. When hunting with a large pack, I like a belt bag over a shoulder bag. Most of my bags are shoulder bags though and all of them have the same basic internal composition. The most complicated carry of internal items is my .56 smoothbore. I keep pre-measured shot in speedloaders, and overshot wads and cups in leather pouches. I'm working on another bag right now that is a radical depature. It is going to be a Eastern woodland Indian warrior pouch. I plan to use it for archery and for carrying non-shooting items.

I prefer a square bag so I can chase stuff into the corners. A single rounded pocket inside on the back holds my rbs. The pouch should be no deeper than the length of my hand. I have no preference in strap material, but I like it at least an inch and a quarter wide.
My customers all have different needs and wants, so I try not to get stuck on one style.
Does your bag strap have a buckle?

Sweet. I see the beedwork is going ahead too.

Make the bags myself too and had a question. Would a horn or wooden button also pc for closing the bag?

Need inspirations for the inside. Would you have a picture from inside the bag.

Until now I'm using one bag for all my rifles but thats to complicated while having meanwhile 3 ML's. So I start having a bag for each rifle (.54 Invstarm Hawken, .45 GPR, .50 smoothie original, all cap).

I have two Large Bags with buckles for the 12ga doubles, and 16ga/2o ga. smoothbores. The Small Bag for my 32 has no buckle and works ok. Nice looking Bags by the way. All these weee bought bags sorry to say. I would like to make the rest for my 30 ga..36, .50. .54 pets. It is nice to pickup the .32 and run to the woods without having to dig for every thing. I was wondering do you cary the items for the Cap and Ball revolver in you bag? I've been slowly acquiring the items for each caliber. Also do ya'll like the soft leather or stif leather for your bags?

Its the canadian bag.(used by Wes Studi in LOTM.
I keep all of my cap and ball stuff in the belt bag.

No preference over leather or suede.

Thanks for the quick answer and foto. So your bags have only one compartment inside. I made the same in my bag where i carry flints or caps. The balls I carry in a linnen sack and 5 prb in a ball board. Normally I use speed loaders, but sometimes I use also horn and measure made of an antler.

I have bags of all sizes for different guns from .32 to 12ga. My biggest problem isn't that I don't have enough stuff...it's that I don't have enough wall space. :shake:

Both would be P.C. and when I started out I put a button on everything. Now that I am OLDER and hopefully more experienced I realize that you shoulden't run with a longrifle, there by not needing to button everything down. :winking:

I'm partial to the double pouch bag. i've got three of these in various forms. http://www.muzzleloadingforum...ost/288502/hl/shooting+bag+goldhunter/#288502
No preference on strap type, but at least 1.5" for me is good. I put an adjustment buckle on all mine.
