Hunting sights

Before I spent $100 on a TC peep, I'd go for the LYman 57 SML, better sight and cheaper. I don't think a guy should have to pay that much to find a new TC peep either. With a little looking you should be able to find one.

I agree Rat trapper but I have an easier and less expensive option. Just a 10/32 set screw from the hardware store. It requires one hole drilled in the rifle's tang to be perpendicular to the barrel. Elevation is adjusted by threading it into or out of the drilled hole and windage must be adjusted by tapping the front sight side to side in its dovetail. It's certainly not so easy to zero in as the Lyman or T/C sights but for a hunting rifle you zero once and leave alone its no big chore to zero, easier than traditional open sights. I personally think it looks right at home on a ML rifle.

I have one a lot like yours,I made me a low dovetailed base soldered it to the tang,then dovetailed the peep into the base So I have both windage & elevation adjustsments.Sorry I can't post pictures but this increased my sight radius by 8",which really helped me.

I use a buckhorn rear sight and a blade (thick like the GPR)front sight. I then took some of wifies red fingernail polish and dabbed it on the front of the front sight so as the the blade shows up really nice. White paint would work well too.

I hate those plain black front sights!!! What I have done to all my side lock rifles is put some hyglo paint on them.

I first put a small dimple on the back of the front sight with a drill. This will give a place to place a drop of the hyglo paint. I have not had to replace any of the paint drops and this has worked well for my old eyes.

Forgot to the main reason I did this to my sights. I was hunting a hollow one year towards the bottom. I wa on one side of the hollow and a buck was on the other. I heard it but it was still dark and could not see him. As it got lighter, I could just make him out after legal light but could not see my front sight. When I did I finally took the shoot. After the smoke cleared, I didn't see where he had run off to. I got out of my stand and there was no blood. Long story short because of the grey out of the early light, I didn't see the sapling between him and me. Killed the hell out of the sapling though.
