No laughing here - I do the same. I am not a very religious person, rarely go to church. There's something about the woods that lends itself well to clearing your thoughts and just enjoying our existence. And every time I shoot a turkey I put my hand on it and say a little prayer of thanks for the privilege of the gift. I don't know when I started doing it, or why - it just happened and feels like the right thing to do. And for some inexplicable reason, gripping a flintlock while doing it just seems all that much more appropriate - I think the feeling of living history ties it all together perfectly.
