Really I don't.
I have a C&B pistol & have been putting together my kit for shooting it.
Right now I'm only shooting at the range, where there is a convenient (& how) bench for reloading after firing, but I plan on not being dependent on having a table handy in the future.
So far I have a holster, belt, capper, powder flask & measure, an empty brass case (to transfer the measured powder to the chambers)a small "tin" can for lubed wads, & a bunch of other "stuff" to run & maintain the pistol & have just gotten a double belt pouch for carrying the accessories, supplies, & so on in.

So now I'm hanging powder flask, capper, ball bag, & other "stuff I just can't live without" :bull: on thongs round my neck, why? Because I filled up the double belt pouch already. :surrender:
AAARRGHHHHHH! I need a possibles bag as well but have no place else left to put it. :surrender: :rotf:

Lest that last post be misinterpreted I'm still having a ball with this, I just need to quit strangling myself with leather thongs. :hmm: :haha:

As long as your neck is RED, and from the sounds of it it is, then you're doing a fine job! Just be careful cause you don't want to hang yourself by one of those leather pieces or have a flask too close to the ignition source (BOOM!) :shocked2: :haha:  .

If you're going to get yourself a small table, may I recommend a Lifetyme brand table, about 2'x3', plastic top and heavy-duty legs that fold-up underneath the table. It's sturdy, cheap, cleans-up good, and will hold the weight of firearms and all of their acc's. The tables are available in Costco & BJ's warehouse clubs.

Glad to hear that you're having so much fun! Continued success and keep 'em in the black!

I was considering some sort of small pack animal or a wagon myself...possibly a brace of beagles pulling a wagon.

One thing I like about BP is all the cool "stuff" that goes with it.

One thing I dislike about BP is how much "manure" that you need to drag with you.

I've been thinking about getting together a checklist to make sure I remember what I need. Last time I went was kinda spur of the moment and I was just tossing stuff in the bag, halfway there I was trying to remember if I packed the guns. Thankfully all I forgot was hearing protection which they have at the range.

I use a checklist, especially for a big match. I bring enough stuff with me to have two of everything, in case something breaks or somebody else forgets something. It's nice to be friendly and "pay it forward", cause you never know when it will be your turn and you'll need something....

That's where I went wrong, bringing two of everything!:rotf:
2 small tin cans of wads, 2 small tubs of lube, 2 cans of caps (a #10 & a #11) and a capper full of caps, 2 vials of oil,(one of Crisco, one of EVOO) & both a volumetric powder measure & a calibrated one (just in case I wanted/needed to change the charge weight). OK time to clear the decks for action. :v

My main range kit for sporting black powder weighs at least 40 pounds! I have at all times: 200-300 .490 rifle balls, 200 .50 cal 370 grain T/C Maxi-Balls, 200-300 .454 pistol balls, 200-300 #10 Remington caps, 200-300 #11 CCI Magnum caps, bottle of Bore Shine, wonder-wads for both pistol and rifle, nipple wrenches (4-5 total) of every size imaginable, .50 cal pre-lubed shooting patches, etc., etc., you get the idea! :shocked2:

Then I bring with me what I refer to as "The Store", and that has extra of most everything including a couple cans of 3Fg! :haha:

Only two things go around my neck: my Ted Cash capper and the set of two .50 cal ball boards with pre-loaded patched round balls. And maybe my binoculars once in a while.

Did I mention the 25-75x Nikon Zoom Spotting Scope and professional tripod yet?? :rotf:

I get exercise just getting the stuff to the range :shake: :) and back!

I got the Ammo, You bring the Food! :)

Had the same problem,my solution was to make a case for each rev..the cases are same as colt type for presentation. Some nice pine, wood stain, brass hinges etc.& felt lined.

mine just a plane ol' box, and a ol' vid cam bag, powder horn, pos- imposables bag, wrist thong, neck thong, hay :hmm: :surrender: i was lol at you guys, and i'v just got one of everything :rotf: well sort of, no repair parts yet no 2f no- :idunno: ok ill stop, this might turn into "what you don't have" then what you do have.

My range bag weighs about 35+ pounds. It holds at least one of everything I think I'll need.

When I take my old Army into the boonies I just carry my ball bag, capper, flask (in an old tape measure holster), tobacco tin with wads and 357 Maxi case (35gr powder measure) it fits in my pocket and gun holster.

When I first went to the boonies my possibles bag was bigger than my wifes purse. It was just a matter of leaving behind the things that I never used.

I am guessing....but i think origionally they only
fired the six and did their main fighting with a
saber[sword]... and if they needed more the most
common re-load was cartridges...Colt had a full
factory manufacturing them...I made 'em myself and
found they worked just fine and save all the extra
luggage....Pistol fighters carried several guns and extra cylinders...

Yep. That's the answer. Get more guns.

That's what I did.

Doesn't work, by the way. :idunno:

Smokin' 50: That's an excellent checklist and guide to what a person would need for an outing.

I shoot in my backyard, if I forget something, I send one of my kids to fetch it.

I have a wooden crate I'm going to use as a base for a rolling cart.

The "guide" for the average shooter would have less quantities of the things mentioned, and would also include more details, such as: cleaning patches, paper towel roll, eyes & ears, water bottle to drink, water bottle to pour down a barrel prior to pulling a load, tool kit for range rod with ball puller, patch worms, and an extra jag, as well as a pistol cleaning kit with appropriate sized screw-drivers. That I would consider a bit more of a guide, but thanks for the Kudos anyway!

Being able to go to the backyard instead of driving to a range does mean that you don't have to haul all of this stuff with you--just have the kid fetch it--I'm jealous!

This is what I came up with for my Navy Colt. It is plenty big enough to carry what I need for that one gun and a full day of shooting. I have a box of balls, a Ted Cash capper which holds 100 caps, a plastic tube of lube, a powder flask, nipple wrench and small screw driver, a short cleaning rod with jag and brush and some cleaning patches. If I were hunting I'd just holster the gun with five loads in the cylinder and call it good, leaving the other stuff in camp or in the truck.
I got the idea from one of the "Comancheros" in the Josey Wales movie but his holster was on the pouch flap, making entry to the pouch very awkward, so I mounted a left handed holster on the back of the pouch. I wear it on the left, where the gun butt hangs in a handy cross draw position. I originally built this for cowboy shooting with a cartridge conversion revolver, which is why it has shell loops, there are 12 gauge loops under the flap.

Looks really fine! Thanks for sharing! Didn't think of it myself--now I'll have to replay the scene with the Comancheros!
