The pistol stand, where can i find plans for it?

I made one for my walker in about an hour out of 1x6 pine. I did not have any plans. The important part is to make sure that the depth of the "U" shaped cut out is correct so your pistol sits straight up at half cock. Also make sure the sides of the "U" shape are close enough to the cylinder so the pistol wont fall over.

I (being maybe a little too worried about scratching up my pistol) made my "U" cut out a little large and lined it with 1/2" foam pipe insulation. It holds my walker quite snug and makes reloading VERY easy.

Mine is purely a tool and not for displaying the gun. The reason I mention this is because while I did router the edges and sand the pine, I didnt put a finish on it. I trimmed the foam so that it looks finished and not at all sloppy, but it isnt the most attractive material.

If you are even remotely handy with wood, this project is a slam dunk.

BP pistols are great for taking along camping out of your vehicle (4WD) I go way back with other fellers usually and the guns brought along are mostly BP and .22's 90% of the time. I bring my revolvers. lot of fun.

Howdy!

A while back, someone posted a collage of pics showing all kinds of loading stands. Spawned alot of great ideas!

Some folks ay the Piettas are lesser quality than some others.
I have a 60 Army Pietta I have used for years.
No problems other than minor maintenence.
That said, I ordered one of these Navies today.

Good idea to have extra hand, bolt, and trigger spring in your parts stash.

I have no problem with my Piettas..other than an occassional stop spring needing replaced. I've been shootin them over 35 years now...

I have not been shooting pistol for nearly as long as most here. But, as far as I'm concerned, you can't beat the Pietta for bang for the buck.
