My new pedersoli frontier broke its flint. What size do I need. Is it 3/4? Where is the best place to order some?

Looks like a 5/8”x3/4”. Track of the Wolf is out but with that info you might see if anyone else has them.

My local place has them as well, Deer Creek Products. If you’re in Indiana I recommend stopping by but they have a website as well. Very helpful guys.

Just bought/received 3/4 inchers from Dixie Gunworks last week. Along with a new catalog (Still $5.00) I'd guess your flint was mounted too far to the left which allowed it to strike the barrel. Looks like what happened to me anyway.

I agree, a guy should have a good supply of flints stored away. That one in the pic does look like it might have struck the edge of the barrel, so always make sure they clear the barrel when they are in the fired position.

No question is stupid; if you're new, you're new. Several guys I see already posted where to buy flints. Best of Luck!

That's where I've been getting mine. Bag of 50 for $85 is a good price in my eyes. Of course they also sell smaller quantities, but I like being stocked up.

I ordered a dozen, according the the guy on the phone mine should be 7/8. So that’s what I bought.

Find a frizzen spring gauge and make sure its within spec.
I had one that ate flints, broke the frizzen until I had the spring filed down.

I recently managed to snag a dozen beautifully made French amber flints on ebay for a couple bucks a pop. While we might not think of ebay as a source, occasionally you find a gem or two on that benighted site.
