I had this much giddy fun with a firearm. Had to be when I was a kid.

I took my flinter out to the range again Tuesday. Dreary rainy day but Went out anyway. Shot off hand at 25 yards and put 15 shots into an inch. I have had this gun for almost a year now and I have apparently gotten over whatever it was I was doing wrong and now I am enjoying this rifle more than any other gun I own. I absolutely love the way the smoke hangs in the air on a dead calm day. I love the smell of black powder and the BOOM! and all of the sparks. I was ready to give up on flinters a month ago. This is my second flintlock. I gave up on my first one way to fast and I will admit to being completely bored with caplocks. My first firearm love is/was lever action rifles but I think that my flinter has edged into first place. I wont get rid of my lever guns they just arent seeing as much range time as they used to!

Thanks to all who have offered advice and answered my questions here.

Scott.

bwahahaha (mad scientist laugh) Dr. Phil will avail you naught: you are hooked.

Hey, look, everybody- another one turned to the dark side.

Flintlocks are so much fun, I am shooting a .54 GPR and thanks to past advise on this site it is real dependable. I have found myself having another rifle and gear packed up for the range only to last minute put it away and grab the flinter, at this point I might as well accept that I do not enjoy shooting anything else near as much.

Tony.
