The only proof marks are in the photo. L HardyHave you pulled the barrel? There likely are proof marks on the bottom side. They would reveal a lot. Thats one fine looking piece.
Looks like Belgian, or German/Austrian to me.Does not look English to me. French, Belgium maybe. I have a flintlock smoothbore fowler with a similar side plate that was made in Austria.

Not "Proof Marks" --- probably from an outworker in the Belgian (Liege?) trade -- - but nothing in "Stockel". Cerainly the overall appearance is Western Europe.The only proof marks are in the photo. L Hardy
