I may have posted this years ago but can't remember and can't find it. I presume this is a musket made during the Napoleonic Wars and as a time saving measure the rear barrel band holds everything together. I saw a lock on Czernys Auction several years ago from Dutch East India Company that had a notch taken out of the frozen spring and no forward retaining pin for the lock so I would suspect it is for the same company. Pity that lock was about an inch off in size or I would have gotten it in a heartbeat. The front band is upside down and cut so the sling swivel is now the sight. Pity about the wood damage and trigger guard but one day I'll get to fixing it up. Can anyone identify what type, era? Ever seen one before?
