Attended Northwest Nazarene University, lived in Cambridge, then bought a cabin in Garden Valley, moved a lot … retired to Oklahoma. My four kids and families RETIRED TO IDAHO. Don't ask why I am in Oklahoma but it might have something to do with cost of living. Polecat

Hello, I am in Southwestern Idaho near Emmett.
Just now getting back into muzzleloaders. I have built a few rifles and currently have 2 flintlocks and a Hawken I need to finish.
Great forum and hope to meet some of you sometime,
Bill

32 years in Idaho. In SE Washington now. Received my first bp handgun kit for Christmas 40 years ago in Pocatello!

New member yesterday holding forth here in Wilder, ID. The Owyhee mountains are my backyard, if only I could live there and come visit here instead of the other way around.

Had a wonderful opportunity to fly fish the Owyhee River with my daughter and her hubbie a couple days ago. I has been almost ten years since we fished it last. What an incredible river and beautiful setting!!

Taking best bud, and heading off to creek fish Jordan Creek from Idaho border to Silver City on Thursday. Was in there a month ago, mormon crickets were thick, water was running clear and fast. Looked like trout waters to me. Gonna give my new secret weapon, vintage USA Zebco 202 closed face rod and reel the acid (and creek water) test.

Now that brings back OLD memories - I think my first Zepco 202 was somewhere around 1970! Have a great trip!!

My second daughter sent me $35 for Dad's day. Lord knows she needs the money far worse than I do, but I ordered the pole and reel online and sent her a.picture. She is just like that. Last weekend in Ontario Oregon junk shop I bought a 33xlb for $3. Beautiful shape stainless and black lexan. Second model with helical bronze gearing.. I dismantled it cleaned out the cobwebs and she looks and runs like new.

years ago i went to Alberta fishing for pike. the gentleman hosting the trip assured me i didn't need to bring any gear, which i took anyway.
we got to a beautiful lake named Dory, and he drags out his gear that he had been using for years. Zebco matching rod and reels.
being the snob i was i figured i'd use his gear the first day instead of my shimano setup just to make him feel good.
17 pike later, most 22-28 inches with several 30-36 , the zebco had a grin on my face. i now have several. not sure where they are but i have them. total pike for the trip was 48. largest was 46 inches. what a blast!

Living in Utah now, but will retire in April '22. We bought mountain property between Ashton and Island Park near Mesa Falls on the Warm River. Will build our retirement home there and live out our lives in the mountains that I love so much. Looking forward to muzzleloader hunting with my Leman rifle and doing lots of fly fishing. Also, I have a high school buddy who lives in Sandpoint and catches LOTS of big rainbows in the lakes up that way. He's already invited me up for a week long fishing trip. Can't wait!!!
