Well.....I have to eat crow on this statement! 😞 When I initially looked today, I was looking at the view where all types are shown and there is nothing noted there about being out of stock. But I just went in to place an order and looking one level deeper in the info, MANY brands and granulations are out of stock. So, doesn't look like their available inventory situation has improved at all.

Its okay, looking at the prices, they are not even worth it unless you are buying in the 25lb range anyways, even then its on par with other stores. At 5lb, its not worth it at all.

I ordered 7 pounds of Swiss 3f Friday from Graff and Sons and got it today via UPS. They didn’t mind bringing to my house. Shipping and haz-mat was around $200. I should have ordered more. They didn’t show any GOEX 3f in stock or the OE or that’s what I would have bought. So that’s roughly $29 a pound. Lets say $30. But UPS brought it to me all the same.

Ups delivered a few pounds of 777 to me last month, along with a few pounds of smokeless.

$200 shipping for 7 lbs ???? 😲

$30 a pound for Swiss? Wow, perhaps I should import it from US :)

Here in EU last time I bough some I paid $140 for 1kg so roughly $70 per pound, but we have other local powders that are much better value. For example Czech Vesuvit LC that I managed to get for $44 per kg (or $22 per pound).

At that rate I would just make some home made powder, yikes!
A little charcoal, stump remover, and garden sulfur crystals go a long way.

I haven't had any trouble getting black powder. Just received 5 pounds of Goex from Buffalo (3f and 4f), $22/lb. delivered in 3 days, on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend.

And I bought 21 pounds of Goex (3f and 4f) from a local guy ($20/lb.).

In a way, this situation highlights how important it is to support GOEX. They are the only manufacturer of black powder in the US. In a country the size of the US we will need a strong US-based black powder manufacturer like GOEX because if the commercial shipping capability were to cease, they would be in the best position to make trucking runs around the country to get the product to distributors/dealers.

I had not really thought about it this way before, but I've probably bought my last "foreign" powder. We need to strongly support our own US manufacturer.
Wait, didn't GOEX just go out of the business?
