If you could change one thing about muzzleloading...

I would like to see "inlines' not included in muzzleloading seasons. To go along with that I would like to see crossbows not included in archery only seasons.

I'd like to see more ranges putting on woods walks as well as just become more black powder friendly in general. At my range the are treated as high powered rifles and restricted to one range and you are only allowed to use paper. I love shooting my flinter but just punching paper all of the time gets old.

From a personal standpoint, I wouldn't want to change a thing. Of course my MLing experience is circumscribed w/in my own "little world"....building and hunting......Fred

The movie "The Revenant" came out in 2015. I'm curious, was there a measurable uptick in sales of traditional firearms?

After watching it, I think there was probably an uptick in the sales of "No-Doz". :td:

Since we're wishing, I'd like a non-corrosive form of black powder .. REAL Black Powder!

Actually, your wish is true.

Black powder is able to be re-classified from a 1.1 explosive to a flammable solid per USDOT, for sporting arms purposes.

I know of no one in the USA that is a shipper of bp that does not take advantage of this. There are a couple of big things that this helps trucking companies. They only have to have 1M of public liability vs. 5M for a 1.1 explosives and you dont have to placard the trucks if you have less than 1001 lbs of a flammable solid. You have to placard the truck if you have any quantity of a 1.1 explosive.

All the information on the net about shooting and load development for inline rifles. Very little about shooting round ball. To search muzzleloading all the inline junk comes up.

I'd like the local indoor ranges to start allowing the use of blackpowder firearms. They claim the smoke makes them have to change out the air filters too soon.

I'd like to see more states with a true flintlock only deer season. 2 or 3 weeks, flint only ...
^ ^ ^ THIS! ^ ^ ^

Agreed, when you think about it, allowing them modern incarnations w/ floochy fake powdah into the 'alleged' primitive hunting seasons allowed them inline assinines (ach, hack ...) to take off ...

They would have had high resolution variable adjustment scopes & rings in the 18th & 19th century so that our contemporary builds could be HC / PC and usable for us fellas with eyes that don't focus the way they used to.

Did you search for "traditional" muzzleloading?

When Googling "traditional muzzleloading", this forum is listed number one and two, followed by another traditional site.

In other words, if you were looking for antique cars, don't just search for "automobile".

Indeed, the words you use and the search engine you use will determine results....Loading data really doesn't exist per say for traditional muzzleloaders......loading data is a more modern thing in the given context.
Each traditional shooter develops his own load....standardized load data like you would see for a center fire rifle doesn't exist in the same fashion..
