I believe that firearms enthusiasts shifting interest to BP away from smokeless drives some of the current scarcity and high prices. I have always owned and enjoyed modern smokeless arms, BP arms, air rifles and pistols and archery stuff. I keep regressing back on the technology spectrum simply to enjoy shooting something without ever increasing restriction by availability, price or regulation.

Agree! Bunch of reasons including the one you stated that are contributing to the cost increases and scarcity of products. Think about the first pistols to come into the country in 1958 and 59. 64 years ago. Lots of reasons why so many haven't survied or didn't survive in decent shape over the years. Reenacting, shooting, poor care, movie use, or just plain neglect. Look how many of these weapons got pounded to scrap in spaghetti westerns. Now with increased demand, decreased production, increased import costs, labor issues, raw materials issues, trained worker shortages, etc. not hard to see why we see less of them new and used.

Huh? Maybe you missed the posts right above mine? I wasn't the one that brought it up, I was merely pointing out that I know people I wouldn't trust with a pointy stick, much less being able to order a Thompson without a background check. You can have and do almost anything in this country, stop pretending you are in someway oppressed. Now let's end the law stuff, and get back to prices please.
Beam me up Scotty, my Thompson too.

Really! With over 20,000 gun laws on the books, which ones of the "few" are you okay with. It is not a gun problem, period. Being part of the problem is no solution.
Robby
I would love to insist that for every new gun law that they propose the politicians must demonstrate how the existing laws, if applied properly, failed to cover the issue. Is shooting someone illegal? Yep. Did the perpetrator ignore that law? Yep. Ok, so what are you proposing that would have stopped the perpetrator from breaking the law? Ummm...

I think his post was very clear. I did not see where he was part of the problem?:dunno:

Good point,,,I feel much safer knowing the average law abiding citizen can not have easy access to full auto weapons,, Like the criminals do!
Do you think having a full auto because a criminal does some how makes us all safer? Really?

"Gun control" isn't about guns, its' about control, the guns are in the way. Total disarmament of the citizenry (subjects) is the goal. If you don't see or understand that, then yea, you are part of the problem.
Robby
pls explain what is going to happen when in your view the evil govt takes away all the peoples firearms? I am certain many would like to know.:ThankYou:

I'll speculate. Pay attention to the slow encroachment of OUR elected government on OURconstituional rights. What do you think will happen when the only right to truly fight back is taken away?

Take a peak at the lock downs that occured during covid in Aus. And NZ, as well as other countries. People getting arrested for violating those lockdowns, allegedly free countries ordering people not to leave their homes except under government approved circumstances.

Take a peak at the patriot act. See any 4th amendment violation there!

The more power and control you allow government to have, the more they will want, and take. They quietly make deals with foreign entities that restrict American rights, while we sit quietly and accept it. They fritter away our tax dollars to support corrupt foreign governments. The Ukrainian government is soooo damn corrupt, it makes the US government look like a church convention.

Cpt Kirk - ignorance is not a lack of education. It's a lack of willingness to be educated. Followed by very careful propagandized conditioning by government. Now go cast another vote for the same old politician while you expect a different outcome.

Well, lets see. " ignorance is not a lack of education. It's a lack of willingness to be educated. Followed by very careful propagandized conditioning that both the Left and Right constantly push on America." That is more accurate, IMHO.:thumb:

I would like to know what store this guy thinks the average citizen can walk in and buy a full automatic gun?
I could name about a half dozen stores around here that are class 3 dealers. The average citizen can purchase a full auto if they have the money to buy one and $200 for the tax stamp. All it takes is a clean FBI NICS background check, your county sheriff signing off on your application, and submitting the required paperwork to the BATF. May take the better part of a year for final approval, but you will eventually receive a call from the shop saying you have been approved to come in and pick it up.

Correct! The process is the same as any other Class 3 purchase, such as a Suppressor or SBR etc. The real question is. Why do you think you need one, and pls ony intelligent, thought out, realistic answers need reply. Thanks:dunno:
