Info on this rifle please.

I have a chance to pick up this rifle for a steal. Can anyone tell me about it? Sounds like it has never been shot.
I normally hunt with a .54 caliber Lyman GPR, but it would be nice to bring a backup gun to elk camp.

CVA's almost always shoot great. I wouldn't be afraid to buy it. It should be liter to carry than the GPR.

Just speculating, It will probably have a faster twist than the Great Plains Rifle based on the stampings for Hunter-23. Probably shoot a conical bullet. It should make a great back-up gun.

We need to see some full length pictures. Most of what I see in internet searches are modern in architecture.

Ive got at least 5 CVA rifles and they ALL shoot very very well. Go for it!

If the price was cheap I would probably buy it, get down around steal and I am buying it 100% of the time.

If it's a "steal" and you need/want a back up...no brainer, do it.
Is it missing the barrel wedge?

Those are very good rifles and a great caliber. I’d buy it if it were in front of me.

It looks like it is. Those are cheap enough
