Thanks so much, gang!
So I am trying to get different brands to check for best accuracy and fouling levels in my rifle. Wondering if I should just order a 5 lbs order, with a few different brands (Goex, Swiss, Shutzen, Graf’s, Old E, etc.) Won’t be as cheap per pound vs ordering a 25 lbs lot, but I won’t have a ton of powder left that isn’t the best for my rifle. Thoughts?
Help!!
Thanks, yall!
Just placed an order with Graf’s.
Got 4 lbs Goex 3F, 5 lbs OE 3F, and 1 lbs Swiss 3F.
I’ve read a load good about the OE. Fouling supposed to be easy to deal with. I’ve always had good luck with Goex and price was very good. I got 1 lbs of Swiss for experimenting. Have read OE fouling is actually even easier to deal with than Swiss, which some report as a dry fouling.
Whatever you don't use in the bore can be used in the pan of a flintlock.
My first rifle was percussion, and I still have it 44 years later. These days I much prefer flint, but as long as its real blackpowder, its all good.I don’t own a flinting piece, I’m one of those craplock persuction deplorables.
Just as well you don't start. One flinter, then the next thing you know the rifle collection has doubled.I don’t own a flinting piece, I’m one of those craplock persuction deplorables.
