A 32 pushed by 30 grain of 3f has 93 foot lbs at 100 yards a 22 has 93 foot lbs at 100 yard so the energy is there now the drop and wind I give up :surrender: I refer to this book
http://books.google.com/books?id=D...resnum=10&ved=0CCQQ6AEwCQ#v=onepage&q&f=false for the 32 and this page for the 22 http://www.gunsmoke.com/guns/1022/22ballistics.html I still say a person that can see a tree rat at 75 yards with the right load can take one at 75 yards. And if a person cant hold a pattern past 25 yard then they need to spend some more time at the range getting to know there rifle BEFORE going to the woods.
