You might want to check with Claude, our Administrator. Find his name somewhere, click on it, then click on "send a private message" on his home page.

I own more flyrods than guns, and I own a lot of guns if that tells you anything. ::
That's ok BrownBear, If you ever get tired of fishing, you can always use those flyrods for ramrods

In the General Forum why not, but is up to Claude?

I also love fishing and fly fishing.

I've made a couple of fly rods and have tied more fly's than I can count or have room for :).

Every fall I do a 3-5 day "wilderness trek" on my own in very remote areas. I take a sidelock for small game and a small collapsible fly rod for fishing along with camping essentials in a backpack.

Even though I'm not a re-enactor.

I would certainly think that small fishing gear of some sort's would be appropriate for period correct equipment used by frontier folk?

I thought it might not be appropriate because it wasn't related to Muzzleloading. :sorry:

But, hey - I own more fishing rods than guns, too. I'm all for being able to discuss fishing here if it's appropriate.

Hunting and fly fishing go hand in hand, most fly tying supplies can be obtained from the game you hunt...

My favorite mayfly tails are squirrel whiskers...

I often carry a fly rod and an 1862 Colt at the same time, so, I would say they're related.
