Need Help With A Question I Was Asked
By A Freind. Any one Know What Year
They Started Making The Colt Walker
Like The One Eastwwod Used In Josey Wales

Well, if the title of your post wasn't "Italian Reproduction Pistol's" I would say Colt (actually Whitney) started making the Walker in 1847.

Replica Arms was formed in the mid '60's and imported Italian Reproductions. The book BLACK POWDER GUIDE in 1969 shows a picture of one of Replica Arms Walkers.

Val Forgett started Navy Arms in 1958 and was reputed to be the first to import Italian Replica pistols. The 1851 Colt Navy and the Griswold & Gunnison were the first pistols he imported so that would indicate that the Walker was not imported prior to 1958.

I own a Italian Walker that was imported by CVA. It is marked "XXIII" which indicates it was proofed in 1967 so we know for a fact that they were imported then.
