Only issue im having, and you can slightly make it out in the picture, is the rear barrel pin. In the picture you can see the rear pin hole is missing one of the brass screws, I assume this is why my barrel pin isnt locking in place?

Will that keep the barrel pin in? I might try lightly tapping the piece under the barrel to bend it slightly as well

Try switching the front pin with the one in the rear...Those GPR's are a little tricky. I don't remember mine having brass screws :idunno:

If I remember correctly one of the wedge pins is longer than the other. I'm not sure if the longer one goes in the front or the back, but I believe this makes a difference. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this. Congrats on the new gun.

You can go to the Lyman site and down load the manual. It has great instructions on how to tighten the pins. I spent considerable time fileing mt front sight to get a center hold at 50 yards. After going thru their procedure the point of impact changed two inches. Do this first! Geo. T.

If you are referring to the escutcheon screw, they are weak. When I built my GPR flint kit, I was told to be careful with these screws. Too much pressure and they will snap and they did. Fortunately, Lyman included several extra screws in the kit. When they broke, I removed the broken part with a pair of needle nose and try again. From your picture, it appears that your barrel wedge is backwards. They should go from the right side (lock side) to the left. Of the two barrel wedges one is slightly longer and goes to the rear. I would contact Lyman for the screws. By the way, what caliber is it? I bought my .54 FPR percussion about 35 years ago and never had a problem. Liked it so much, when I retired my wife bought me the .54 GPR flint kit. You are going to love that rifle. Congradulations

Thanks all for the kind words!
I fixed the problem and went out to shoot today, but I had pyrodex so no boom ( hense other thread ive posted) Hopefully ill be able to pick up some tomorrow and get to smokin
