First string of warm days in my area. Heard the woodcock in the field which is a sure sign of spring in my opinion. Had a series of raised beds but it was impossible to weed around them. Plan to tear them out, burn, and till in a couple of small plots this year once the ground dries out a bit.

It's a cross between "Big Dwarf" and "Brandywine". They promise earlier maturity, great flavor and fewer blemishes. Since we save seeds I don't know if they would come back true. We have not tried them but will consult with the better half and see what she thinks.
Is Big Dwarf an Heirloom? Seeds from heirlooms should "come true".

Well I went and bought 2 of those Big Brandy tomato plants. One is already in the ground.I'll plant the other one tomorrow. It'sally warming up, almost too fast down here. It's supposed to hit the mid 90s this friday.

I had been doing 9 squash plants but 6 is all this old back can do.Time to do a little downsizing. I transplanted 6 today and that's gonna have to do it for this year.I'll just be eating 1/3 less squash.

I have a small cold frame and never really used it for plants but I did try it this year. Put in carrots, radish, arugula, spinach. They went in a couple weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised the other day
