Hold up. Could the problem be from a bent ram rod? No I can't feel any protrusion, but I'm realizing the rod is a tad bent. Could that have made it get stuck?
Could be bent ramrod . . . yes . . . easily rectified . . . roll on a flat surface and gently bend until it rolls with full contact.
Could be bent thread on the end of the jag that screws into the ramrod . . . can be fixed relatively easily . . . gently bend.
Could be the internal threads in the end of the ramrod are not 100% parallel to the ramrod centerline . . . more difficult to fix . . . cut RR shorter and re-tap threads. My bet is the ramrod is bent, even the slightest bend can make a big difference.

Shouldn't be this big a hassle for you to get your smoothie to function properly.

I use a bronze extractor.....2 handles ..... 2 articulated, leather lined jaws........Pull out the rod

I'm still trying to find out how to ....attach files.... pictures are in the picture area but faded ...and I can't
choose them....anyway.................................................................................................. C.L.

I bought one of these at the ONWT in 88. I have used it once or twice myself since then, and maybe 2-3 dozen times on somebody else's stuck ramrod. It lives in my shooting box. Add pictures by viewing them, right click
and select "copy", then just paste into the message. This one came from Townsends.

Glad to hear that you got it out! A pair of vise grips clamped onto the rod and striking the vise grips with a hammer sometimes works on things like that. Sometimes a bit of shock gets more done than a steady pressure. Learned about stuff like this working on horseless carriages. Not that I personally have ever gotten a ramrod stuck, nosiree Bob you betcha....well maybe almost just that one time🤫😇🤔
