Hey Grenadier1758,

He has a Pedersoli Frontier Rifle and those use a patent breech, so there is no chance of the touch hole vent being long enough to catch a jag. The vent hole does not go directly into the bore from the side. It goes into the patent breech chamber, which is a pre-ignition chamber that enters the barrel at the bottom and in the center of the bore instead of in from the side. His cleaning jag and patch would not fit into patent breech chamber, so no way for it to intersect the vent liner and hang up the cleaning jag.

Yes, the Pedersoli patent breech was what I originally thought was the way the Frontier was set up. In the Pedersoli web site and parts lists for the two rifles, the Frontier and Pennsylvania have different part numbers for the flint breech plugs. The two rifles may have a different breech configuration.

Lets hope that the jag gets pulled and the sticking of the cleaning jag can be solved. This is one of those problems that we could likely solve very quickly if we could get our hands on that particular rifle.
