Jaw bone knives

Been along time since I had the urge to make a knife..Had someone give me the bottom jaw from an old and I mean old female bear,teeth are worn down bad..Also found a fox jaw bone I found years ago stashed away in my junk drawer..Bear jaw bone knives are forged damascus blades by my friend John..Run around 6 1/2" with a 4 1/2" jaw handle..The fox is cable damascus I left rough,blade runs 4" with a 4" handle..Knives are unfinished I`ve yet I have to decide how far to take them to give them a old worn look..

They're certainly nice looking, but how are they in the hand? I'd hate to get bitten using a knife!

The jaws are from a old female and her teeth are worn down..The handle feels good in the hand with no bite..

The molars on the bear weren't the one's I was meaning, but the fox. Good to know they feel as good as they look!

The fox does bite a tad but I made it as a patch knife..I have serious doubts I`ll do any more jaw bone knives..

Very nice knives, I made a couple with Obsidian blades years ago, that is a test of patience...one more little flake here...crack!
insert vulgarities here....... Do you make them to sell or for your own use/satisfaction/ they sure look good.

Here was my answer to the breakable Obsidian blade..Made it from 1095 steel and used a carbide bite to give it a knapped looked..
