Need some help with this one. Does anyone know what the markings on top of the barrel mean?

15.2 is the bore D in mm. 20g ish.

I have a Dixie Gun Works 20 ga made in Spain. I would guess the JB on the barrel stands for "Just Barely"... lol.

J B weld was used in its construction. I think it was who assembled the barrels? Or house of proof testing?

Just as likely to be the initials of guy who proofed it.

Found out that JB is the mark of the manufacturer. Armas Bost, formerly Jose Bolumburu

Looks like one of the cheaper, but functional doubles imported and sold by Dixie Gun Works in the 60’s.

man that sure is the longest serial# that I have ever laid eyes on!!! the electric pensile #bes, seem to be a persons SOCIAL SECURITY #, not KOSHER to add to a gun today, but in years past it was a common practice.

Definitely going to shoot it. Have to do an order from Track of the Wolf, so it will be a little bit before I can. Have my 2 rifles to shoot as soon as I get time. May even hunt with it a little bit.

I had one like that I loaned to my brother-in-law. I loaded it with 120 grains of Unique and 2oz of shot. Haven’t heard from Bob in a long spell...

Hello. This 20 gauge muzzleloading shotgun is manufactured in Spain, in the city of Eibar, and is tested in 1962 (corresponding to the letters "H1") at 700 klgms/cm2. If the barrels are not rusted and the thread on the nipples is not rusted it may be usable. But you have to check that the percussion locks work and that they are safe. In any case, use a low or moderate powder load. "JB" is the name of the Basque manufacturer, José Beistegui, who made cheap muzzleloading shotguns. It may be necessary to change the nipples and fix the locks, but if the barrels and chambers are not rusted, the weapon is safe, as it was tested at the Banco de Bruebas de Eibar.

Thank you. The barrels look ok and have already got the nipples out. The locks seem to work fine. Have to wait until I get some supplies to try it.
