I found this in South Africa and am extremely pleased with it. It is an American style rifle made by a gun smith called J Ohrt. The bore is still excellent and it shoots beautifully with .445 PRB.

It has a hole for a tang sight but shoots beautifully at 100m with the fitted sights.

On one of the facebook pages one of the members posted some info on this gunsmith.

A similar Ohrt percussion gun was sold at auction a few years ago; your gun probably had a similar peep sight
