I was just wanting to get some input on swap hunts. Maybe get together with some folks off the forum and trade hunting trips. I was think, like I have a antelope hunt here in Wyoming for a ???? hunt in your home state. It seem to me hunting the west is hard because people don't know were to go and a outfitted can be alot of money. Anyway, What do you guys think? :yakyak:

I think it's a good idea. Except that I ain't got no time or $$$ to travel around huntin'... :(
Just hafta make do with what I can get around here.

I'm a life member of the North American Hunting Club and they have a swap hunt section in their magazine. It seems to be a popular thing.

I'm sure somebody will want to take you up on a swap. Good luck.

Sorry,

the stupid german hunter don't know what a swap hunt is. You don't mean swamp hunt?

To swap is to trade, and to swap hunt is to trade hunts. You visit his hunting grounds to hunt with him and then some time afterward, the swapper visits your hunting grounds to hunt with you.
Of course each one shows the other the best hunt possible! :winking:

I got a buddy that does that but he doesnt hunt tradiitional, but he guides trad hunters I think.I can give you his website if your interested. He has swaped hunts with guys in Texas and other states.

I 'SPOSE I COULD TAKE ONE A YOU CRITTERS SWAMP HUNTIN' FER CANADA GEESE ON ONE A MY REMAINING PERMISSION FIELDS OR ILLINOIS WHITE TAIL HUNTIN' ON THE HUGE EXPANSE OF THE SHAWNEE NATIONAL FOREST

If I had anything to trade I would do it in a heartbeat. I grew up listening to stories of Dad, Grandpa and my uncles hunting in Wyoming. One day I'll make it out there. :v

I have done swap hunts three years running now with guys who have good turkey hunting and swapping with me for a cow elk hunt in Colorado (non ml hunt)

It has worked out great and resulted in making some good friends.

I also hunt ML elk and ML deer in CO, and would love to trade for Texas hog hunting in the panhandle area if there are any possilbles out there.
