I went shooting with a buddy of mine a couple of weeks ago and he brought his black powder .44 caliber Pietta 1858 New Army revolver with him. I enjoyed shooting it so much, that I ordered one from Cabela's when I got home!

I just received my pistol today and it is a beauty! I love the wood grain on the grips and it has an amazing balance.....I can't wait to get it out to the range.........

Awesome wood! Looks slick with that short barrel. Kudos on your new purchase

The enthusiasm for these things is contagious...especially with Cabelas sale prices. I just ordered one (8" barrel) and am anxiously awaiting delivery.

Sure like the looks of your 5 incher. Think I'd of gone that way if they'd had 'em in stock. Those grips are terrific...you won the Pietta lottery!

Let us know how it shoots.

That is one beautiful little revolver. This could be a good time to help out the Italian economy

I own about 40 guns, a mix of modern and black powder. Of all the different guns I have, I consider the 1858 Rem the crown jewel.

I have five 1958's in various barrel lengths and calibers. The last one I bought was the stainless steel version.

Congratulations on your nice looking Pietta.

I just checked my Cabela's account and see my 8" version has shipped to the Scarborough store a week+ early. I expect I'll be able to pick it up this week. After seeing yours I can hardly wait.

She's a beauty! I've had mine about 25 years and have won some matches with it. They are shooters right out of the box and can be made into first class top flight competition guns with a bit of smithing!
I think they are one of the truly great values out there in reproduction guns. MD
