I am looking at the silverstar by Pedersoli in either .32 or .45. I'm not going to go huntin' with the thing , just wanna pop some targets and have something different over the fireplace. So with that being said any thoughts pro or con as to the silver furniture.

I've always had good luck with Pedersoli products.

As to caliber, I have "fumble fingers" so I would pick .45. I end up dropping the little bullets.

The lock may need some fine tune up work.

not that Pedersoli makes a bad rifle, ALOT of people seem to like them. I personally have never owned one, and my opinion is worth just what you payed for it. I, being the cheap arse that I am, would have a very hard time paying 1000+ for ANY production gun. For that kind of money I would be looking at going semi-custom. I just got a TVM Iron mounted Southern rifle in .36 cal. with a Long Hammock barrel, #4 Davis triggers and Chambers Siler lock. I should have it around the first of May. All said and done I have a little over $900 in it. From what I hear, and again I've never shot one, Pedersoli's are way over priced. You might want to look here before you put your money out:

There are many others here http://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/MLF_Links.php

Again this is just my opinion, and as always, your milage may vary

I have found that Pedersoli generally has good products, but the silver furniture is an oddity in my opinion.

Where in SC are you? We might get together so you can shoot something from my collection. I do have a silver mounted rifle that you could see.

I have shot at Mid Carolina Rifle Club's monthly shoots; currently shoot with Charles Town Rifles and plan to attend the state shoot at Allendale in a few weeks. I am trying to help start a club near Florence.

PM me if interested.
