I think the .58 smoothbore is a fine gun. It's quite light and handles very well. Here is one I built with a Maple stock.
Very nicely done. The color looks like cherry. I really like the restrained carving. The lines of the gun are so nice that it doesn't need a lot of embellishment. Jim's rifles are all like that. Just superb proportions - very gifted guy, and great kits. Wish he'd make a lefty for us sinister types.
