I used iron nitrate and permalyn sealer on the stock and rubbed it back with white synthetic steel wool to knock the shine down, i used jax black on all the metal except the lock which i left as is and rubbed the barrel and other metal parts with grey synthetic steel wool to give it a grey look. That’s what I would expect to be the best combination, and would I would hope for if I had a 45…. Every gun likes what it likes, but you got lucky.My .45 SMR likes .440 RBs with a .015 patch.
